Message from Australian Powerlifting Union President

31st December 2020

Dear APU Member,

Please welcome the new additions to the APU Board.

Mr Max Bristow from Newcastle moves out of the Secretary General role into a Director’s role of Diversity and Inclusion.
Max has come from a lifting background and just may be the most versed lifter, coach and organiser in our country. Max has countless national titles, national records, and IPF world records under his belt and is passionate about bringing an equal playing field into the sport for all competitors.

Mr Romano Gaspardis from Canberra has taken the role as APU Secretary General.
With just over half a decade under his belt of lifting and recently officiating experience, Romano has been an active and passionate participant in the APU ACT committee and brings the enthusiasm to move the APU forward.

Mr Colin Webb from Brisbane moves out of the APU Qld State Manager role into a Director’s role.
Colin has been a great lifter and has won multiple National Championships, and placed 4th at the IPF World Classic Championships in Russia, 2013. Webby has been active as a coach, including head coach for QLD, club operator Official and meet director.

While all three new inclusions will bring a lot of energy into the APU board, the APU also accepts the families of the board and committees who play a big role in sharing their family member for our benefit.

The Board and Committee of APU wish all members and their family the happiest of new year, and we are looking forward to a prosperous 2021!

Yours in strength,

Sean Muir
The APU President
